Development​

In 1981, Qiao Changlin, the deputy director of the Xiaoqing River Shipping Bureau of the Shandong Provincial Department of Communications, invented the first - generation lap - joint rubber airbag. Its skeleton material was rubber - coated canvas. On January 20, 1981, the first ship - launching test using this airbag was carried out at the Xiaoqing River Shipyard and achieved success. In the early 1990s, technological innovations were made. Nylon cord fabric replaced canvas as the new skeleton material, and a new integral winding manufacturing process emerged.

Maintenance​
